About

My life began during the scorching summer of '76, in Nottingham, England.

I was brought up to make the most of life, learn from my mistakes and always aim to do the things I enjoyed the most... Playing sports and being creative were my two greatest passions, and it's these two things that I’ve always searched for.

After achieving my Graphic Communications Degree with Honours (2:1) at University I decided to travel the world in search of adventure.

Bungee jumping in New Zealand, Surfing reef breaks in Indonesia & working with movie producers in Hollywood came high among my favourite achievements... But it was during my time in Australia that I found my dream job, working as a web designer, tour guide & photographer for the no.1 surf tour company in Australia, Mojosurf.

Then after 6 great years of exploring the world, meeting & working with inspiring people and experiencing some amazing places, I finally returned to the UK.

Why I design

I've always liked to help people & make their lives easier, whether it be showing my parents how to use their new TV remote (back in the 80’s), through to teaching my daughter how to ride her bike without stabilisers.

And it's 'Graphic Design' that has given me the chance to make a positive difference, helping me to help others achieve their creative & business goals.

How I design

When it comes to browsing the internet or learning a new skill online I'm 100% a visual, skim-reading kind of guy (The quicker & easier, the better). So YouTube videos, nice photography & simple instructions are a must for me!

When I design websites I always aim to keep things simple for the end user; clean, easy-to-navigate websites that tell your brand's story clearly; from your logo through to your tone of voice... Working well on both mobile & desktop devices.

Although the design is important, it's no good having a nice shop or cafe if no one know's it's there! So I help drive footfall & sales using a section of digital tools including, SEO, PPC, Affiliates, Social Media & Email Marketing.

I am a Creative Designer that specialises in Web Design, Digital Marketing, Brand Identity and conceptual Logo Design, along with a keen eye for Photography.

Surfing, spending time with my family, early mornings, comedies, sunshine, flip flops, Foo Fighters, live acoustic music, sand between my toes, football, drawing, camping holidays, Italian food & drink, avocados, Yorkshire Tea, campfires, golf, freshly cut grass, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, afternoon siesta (before we had kids), audiobooks, Cadburys chocolate, popcorn & movies with our kids, Costa Coffee, music festivals and the smell of Mr. Zog’s Sex Wax (It’s a Surfboard wax that smells coconutty).
